    • Adjust your communication frequency and approach based on stakeholder roles and preferences.

3. Identify tasks and milestones

  1. Identify tasks:
    • Refer to documents. Conduct online research.
    • Define project tasks in one or two sentences
    • Look at project task dependencies
    • Enlist help from team members. Analyzing key conversations
    • Define project tasks by the amount of time they will take to complete
    • Identify project tasks by their “done” factors
  2. Ordering tasks, determine task priority.
  3. Identifying milestones
    • Identify points in the project plane where you and your team can evaluate the work completed so far.
    • Identify important tasks that your stakeholders have a particular interest in.
    • Identify tasks that carry a high risk or signal the completion of a phase or major task.
  4. Time estimation : effort estimation, and total duration estimation (considering other factors).
    • Three-point estimating : Optimistic, Most Likely, Pessimistic. The Triangular Distribution: E = (o + m + p) / 3; or The Beta (PERT) Distribution: E = (o + 4m + p) / 6
    • Applying confidence level ratings for each estimate.
